It must be defeated
I think should have 3 specs, and I think all of them should summon lots of minions for a small amount of time. And all the three specs should consume corpses of summoned minions too fulfill his role, except for both dps that should keep as much summoned minions while consuming them to have better dps (minions also deal damage).
Ranged caster dps and support: consume a minion to buff the party and his minions, explode a minion to disease and dot the enemy or/and CC de enemy.
Tank and support: consume a minion to heal himself, consume a minion to buff the party and his minions, and explode a minion to threat or taunt the enemy, consume a minion to create an armor with his bones for damage reduction.
Melee dps and support: consume a minion to buff the party and his minions, consume a minion to imbue the weapon with dark magic for the next hit (dealing more damage and elemental damage).
The necromancer, honestly, I didn't really want to think about the necromancer because it is a very similar class to the warlock and I don't find a difference in its functionality in the game other than to say that its power comes from different sources.
Therefore, here are my ideas for the Necromancer, ones that differentiate the warlock from him but that in turn understand that he can and at the same time not be a pure caster.
First of all, what does a Necromancer have in equipment?
If there is something we should know about the necromancer, it is that it is a class like the cultist sorcerer, which is responsible not only for killing and experimenting on living beings, but also for using their remains as armor.
For which his garments will be at most leather, using the same leather and the bones of his victims (the bone is implied to be incorporated in the same defense catalog as the leather).
Specific weapons of a necromancer are scythes because of the obvious affiliation to death such as daggers and staves.
If there is something that I want to completely differentiate the necromancer from the warlock, it is his damage type.
I think all Necromancer specializations and abilities should be procs and damage over time.
While the warlock must be direct and instant massive damage.
So with that said here are the 3 pure DPS specs of the Necromancer and their corresponding abilities.
1- Necromancer of the Necropolis.
The necromancer of the Necropolis is simply the typical necromancer that we know, his damage is focused on the summoning of several skeleton archers, zombies that tear the enemy, putrid dogs that chase the enemy and disgusting deformed beings that all they do is cause horror, terror and disgust to the opponent.
It should be understood that these invocations must be in large quantities but weak and for a short time, their damage must be cumulative and exhausting.
The logical thinking when talking about this specialization is to know that the necromancer has complete control of his brainless undead.
So to this spec I would place a type of mark or marker which the necromancer decides how to divide their groups of summons and attack their opponent.
And yes, you are thinking what I think you are thinking, this specialization is inspired by RTS, creating sub-groups of undead that are buffed when combined, thus giving rise to different combat tactics and different ways of dealing with an opponent.
Another thing that I think this necromancer should have is the sinew bomb, what is the sinew bomb?
Well, imagine a sphere that is formed with 2 jaws of a beast which opens leaving 2 free holes, from these holes come 2 tendons that what they do is anchor themselves in 2 enemies and join them where the bomb that you launched was.
Why do I think this pump is necessary? Well, for another time, having said what has been said, playing with this idea of moving troops and choosing when and how to attack, gathering weakened enemies who are fleeing so that a group of voracious dogs ends up killing them is something that every tactician should know how to do well and combine it with your units.
“The necromancer wakes from the ancient catacombs of the ancestors, howls of beasts are heard in the moonlight, the winds shiver as nature writhes, an ancestral resting place, the necropolis which every body was buried to give way to souls an eternal rest. Now it lies profaned by the hands of the Necromancer, experienced, deforming, giving life to the dead, binding that with death to the realm of life.
Between such a perverse act, the Necromancer shouts –!!!My creation will conquer everything, and I will be its lord, they will tremble for me, they will tremble because I will bring death!!!- and so the scene moves away, the gray earth now lies profane, death, the wicked approaches our eternal rest.”
2- The Ruined Necromancer.
The Ruined necromancer as I call him, is simply a being who wanders between humanity and a spirit in perpetual pain.
If the previous specialization focused on the very summoning of resurrected and perverted beings.
This one focuses exclusively on DOT.
Spells which, as they mark the character, do percentage damage and are applied and accumulated, that these break defenses and spread, miasma above all, death and slow corrosion.
As the enemy slowly dies he will attack with his spiritual chains which bind his ruined soul, hurting and immobilizing the enemy, slowing him down, rusting him, piercing his heart so that the plague and miasma arrive.
As if this were not enough, his only invocation will be the specter of dispossession, which will be in charge of stealing the life of the enemy as well as recovering that life stripped from his master and himself, a being that was born from the deep torment of the necromancer who now lies in the thread of eternal pain for their actions of old.
Also the chains of the heart of the ruined necromancer are shared with the specter of spoil, expanding its range of action and being able to communicate them, another portal which allows you to go even further without being there.
“Church bells ring and a large square is invaded by a great bonfire, the fire surrounds the square while a crowd screams.
-BURN IT!!! MONSTER!!! , DAMNED!!! , PARIA!!-
A man who looks like anyone is tied while the fire grows in the great bonfire and the father speaking with superiority and arrogance denounces the man bound in chains. – Profane is the one who does not respect the dead, profane is the one who does not follow the teaching of our Lord, perverse one who plants the seed of evil, you will be purified with fire and you will suffer in eternal hell, GOD DEMANDS THE DEATH OF ALL THOSE PERVERSE! BURN FOREVER!!!-
The man shouts between the flames blaming everyone , summoning with his breath an ultimatum , words that conjure eternal death , the crowd that wished for the death of the man is now gradually being reduced to mere bodies without blood , their souls remaining as skeletons . they are drawn to man. Chains go directly to the father to drag him into the fire that has now turned a bluish green consuming him , everyone all the screams disappear so that corpses which once were men , women , boys and girls adorn the ground , the beautiful church of colorful tiles has now turned into floating rubble with specters , the common people are now a pack of specters and the man on fire now , his bluish skin with luminous eyes like cold frost , stands up and his chains chase him , his burns are now covered in ectoplasm and will wander forever bringing ruin.”
3- The passerby.
This necromancer is very different from the other 2, unlike his counterparts, the transient necromancer is one who has merged perfectly with death and its cycle.
This necromancer has understood that death is inescapable, that it must be accepted and lived, he knows that to begin and renew, he must first die and be reborn.
Therefore, unlike his brothers, he is probably the saneest of the 3, not to say that he is a wise being, regardless of his appearance, or form, he knows that when it happens to him or to another, he will die and change, live and will die
His power, which in turn emanates from death, is not dark like his brothers, it is identified with the light at the end of the path, layers with even more greenish or white tints, but this one, when completely merging with the power, the concept and accept it knows how to use it and how to manage.
Considering this, his zero fear of death allows him to face problems directly in life, so he uses his scythe to attack, unlike what would be believed of someone with a scythe, the necromancer still does not have complete control in death. , he is only a herald who can distribute it when allowed.
Therefore, his cuts from his scythe have to mark the enemy in the first act, declare his death, inflict a certain percentage of damage, which then repeats it with a second cut.
His movement will be fast, he can go through walls, he understands physical concepts like others and deforms them in order to overcome them.
In his pure soul form he will move without being able to attack but being able to pass through things and being untargetable.
Finally, being the herald of peaceful death, it will be embodied and represented in him, appearing behind his back, the bay horseman will attack to combine with his herald the cuts of his scythes.
“A gasping breath is heard, a child is looking at the ceiling losing consciousness because bandits have looted his town and destroyed his home, he drowns in muffled tears while his life loses, a diffuse light from the door of his home appears , a hooded man is his figure, he jumps to the bandits quickly and attacks them, a rider with a bay horse surrounds the hooded man, combining slashes as if it were a dance destroys the bloody bandits who conceived this attack.
The man approaches the dying child.
The child says -Mom, Dad I don't want to leave yet, I have so many things that... -
The hooded man pulls back his hood to reveal a face of taciturn sadness, gentle and good-natured at the same time.
He tells the child – Calm down, rest, you have lived well, you were happy with your family, that is what matters, you can't see your mother or father now, but they are here hugging you-
The boy narrows his eyes and sees them approaching, cries when he sees his parents.
-I feel cold, mom, dad I want to hug them-
The mother says –Come son, everything is done, come into our arms-
The child closes his eyes for his body to leave, his spirit now embrace his family.
The man puts his hood back on, and takes a lotus flower and places it on top of the boy's body.
He walks away from the scene burying the family together, continuing on his way to comfort more souls and more people to see. ”
hello, it would be great if a specialization, the necromancer summons a pet, the pet absorbs damage from the owning player and summons apart as a spell hordes of skeleton warriors and archers and hordes of zombies in one specialization, there may be another necromancer specialization that can absorb the player's life to heal cast darkness spells summon demon spirits that when killed, a player can absorb their energy to deal damage
Marvelous community,
Let's get those precious minds to work and shape the best possible concepts for the classes.
So how will this work? We will ask you 5 questions (a question every day) about the class of the week. All your answers will be gathered and then evolved if needed, to create the best, and most fun to play class.
Okay, we all agree that a Summoner Necro is mandatory, but what else?
DIfferent poisons? Corruptions and conditions spec? Can he be a Tank or Support?
Let's see what roles can the Necro fill without any problems.
All classes should have 1 way to Tank, to Support, to Magic DPS and to Physical DPS.
ESO did this well and it can be improved a lot:
How would Necromancer...
-TANK? Shielding himself with corpses and it's parts like a bone Armor and healing himself taking pets life.
-HEAL? Stealing enemies/pets life to heal allies, debuffing enemies with disease damage.
-MAGIC DPS? Pets and Dark magic, zombies, skeletons, ghosts, abominations, ghouls, stealing life from enemies to strengthen his pets.
-PHYSICAL DPS? Disease damage, imbuing weapons with disease, projectiles made of corpses parts, kamikaze pets, reaper form.

-DPS/Summoner
-Support/Buffs
-Tank/Buffs on self
Hello There!
I would say that Necromancer could have more of a support/crowd control role. DPS would be kind of expected as well and Tank would be interesting I think. I would say Necromancer would be more versatile than simply one concentrated role. For example
Support/crowd control: Necromancer would probably do necrotic damage, decay, and life steal. So as a support role, they could debuff enemies by slowing them down with decay-like spells or stunning them with fear-like effects. This could give main DPS characters and Tank a bit of advantage and a "breathing space". Of course, life-steal spells would make sense. They could heal themselves with life steal or their companions which would make them kind of secondary support healers.
Debuffs would also be good as crowd control that could help the caster to get away from danger. Of course, summoned creatures would be the main asset. Skeletons, ghouls or similar creatures would spread the threat level from caster and allies to the summoned creatures. This would be good for both crowd control and damage depending on the summoned creatures.
DPS: Well, I would say more or less all of the above. I guess that with classic ranged DPS spellcaster type, there can not be mistake. Of course, it would be fun to have necromancer as melee DPS, concentrated on poison and/or curse weapon buffs, with an occasional short-ranged spell.
Tank: This would be interesting IMO as Necromancer would be expected to be a squishy caster. Some protection spells and debuffs would probably be useful. But the most interesting part would probably (again) be using summoned creatures to throw at the enemy. Zombies, skeletons, ghouls, it could be quite imaginative. Summoned creatures would be the main tool actually for a Necromancer tank as it would require for the character to be constantly active. Summoned creatures do not have to be super strong nor to have too much HP, just enough to generate enough threat for the enemy to be distracted and be "alive" long enough for another undead bunch to be thrown at the enemy. I guess it would be hard to balance out and it does look a lot like a support/crowd control explanation, it is just a part of the idea for tank really, but I would avoid the classic approach for a tank with a lot of armor, HP, and buffs/protection spells on character themselves.
Still, Support/crowd control would probably be the best approach for Necromancer in a team play, at least in my opinion.
Sorry for the long post.
All the best!
MX!
Expanding on the suggestion of Slowing creatures they would cast something like Chains of death that connect the target to the ground by a length of chains and chains. Then as ones power with this spell improves it would also drain health for the Necro or as the target is drained and fades a death creature is slowly formed to do the Necro's bidding.

Necromancer Specc's
Awakening
This is the typical necromancer as you know him. He summons skeletons to fight for him. Melee fighters, archers and mages. He can pull the skeletons together and explode them. He can create new skeletons or undead from the corpses of killed enemies.
Puppeteer
This dark puppeteer commands 2 cruel monsters. From his fingers come ropes with which he can control the puppets. He puts his dark arts into his two puppets and the enemies can't get to him. Over many years he has refined his puppets and adapted them to the situations. No one knows what his puppets can do.
Reaper
With a scythe, this merciless fighter cuts through everything in his path. For reinforcement, he can summon tombstones and have servants fight for him. The tombstones not only strengthen the Reaper but also the servants.
Champion/Legend Specc
Soul Splitter
The soul splitter divides his soul by 4 and this fighter does not appear alone but with the CD (soul splitter) 3 more fighters similar to the soul splitter appear. He fights only with a one-handed sword, the blade howls as soon as it cuts into flesh and poisons/destroys the opponent from the inside. The idea is from the Nazgul from Lord of the Rings.

Makula
This necromancer is no ordinary one. He lets rats fight for him and increasingly empowers himself with the suffering of his opponents. Over time, the rats fight more and more aggressively. The more aggressive the rats become, the stronger the summoner becomes. Thanks to his blood, he is connected to the rats at all times.
When the summoner is filled with rage, he unleashes the Prima Makula. The summoner's eyes start bleeding and the enemies burn in an eternal black flame.

I'm also a Necro lover, and the idea of the Tombstones that give you bonuses is quite good. I see it like the totems of the shammy.
Puppeteer sounds interesting as well, quite good suggestions indeed.
