A village should be . It just works as a simple and humble begining so through the entire jorney to remember where you from
i I agree with this 100%. I've been playing WoW since shortly after release. Some characters are from before.
A peaceful world. At the beginning there is a short cinematic to bring the story of the folk closer to the player, then the first quest was accepted in a "small" area of few NPC and a harmonious area. With the acceptance of the first quest, the game mechanics were brought closer to the player.
In the vicinity of the player and the first quests you could move around without being attacked by enemies (unless you attacked the respective "monster") and that's exactly what I would like to see again, not like in other MMO's where stress, war and countless menu's, NPS or tasks fly directly around your face, whereby it is not understood or conveyed that you are playing a "unique people with a unique class".
The most important point in the starting area is the game friendliness for new players, it will be hard enough later on...
#EDIT1: and please.. dont force us to any "tutorials". Feel free to create a tutorial for the first character that is created. In the game that is being created here, players will create a lot of characters and no one wants a forced tutorial for subsequent characters.
A simple bar in which the first spell is displayed with the indication with which hotkey this slot can be used is completely sufficient. The option of activating a tutorial as an option in the settings would be welcome.
#EDIT2: I have somewhat missed the point with the previous text. I imagine the starting area of the human being to be bright and open. In a castle, a cathedral or a small village with a few houses. All around a natural area with a farm, agricultural or domestic animals. As "quest animals" e.g. bears, wolves, traitors (also humans)...
