Witch Specializations! We really can imagine the Witch being all of the "Holy Trinity" roles, but should it?
DPS as the main focus is certain, but ranged or melee? Support class with buffs? Why not a Healer though? It surely can be a magical Tank of some sort with force fields, protecting the party.
Let's see what roles you think the Witch should have.
How about some kind of offensive support that helps the party with damage (maybe damage over time), debuffs enemies and buffs allies
Easily see the Witch class providing a multitude of roles and styles to fit the needs of their party.
Ranged DPS spec that weakens and degenerates their targets utilizing vile curses from their grimoires. However can still burst a target once they have built up on their current foe.
Support hybrid spec that might not be the strongest healer in the game, but can provide short term buffs and healing to the party. Requiring a source to draw their magic from, maybe siphon something from the parties target to generate the resources needed to buff and heal allies.
Hybrid Melee DPS spec that attacks with daggers and temporary transformations from elixirs. Also having very short ranged attacks and debuffs it can apply to their target. Fast moving and tricky spec that confuses their foe with illusion and tricks to get in and out.
About your "all roles of the holy trinity thing" at first I thought that was silly as how could you be a tank but the idea of a ranged squishy tank might be an interesting concept. Imagine if the witch tanks by slows and debuffs or something and just kites the boss in circles, the only problem with that I see is that sounds like twice the amount of work to get the same result as any other tank

-IN ENGLISH-
I think it should be DPS focused on ranged attack, it can also be melee since with your cane you could do damage or any other weapon you use, as far as being Tank or Support, for the first time in a class would not look bad as long as this balanced, I think it’s a class that can be multi-purpose.
Tank because it has some kind of shield of darkness and Support because it could drain life from some enemies to give it to others allies, but I prefer it more to DPS At A Distance or Melee.
Bulky version of ranged mage:
I think there must be a less squishy but much more bulky
mage and this is where the witch comes in, a mage who has strong resistances in
dark magic and some barrier skills. As every mage she/he must be a ranged
caster spec with smart resources and the ability to summon a demon or a pet to
help him out. Some of the smart resources that witch has is the ability to
redirect a cast or projectile to his pet, and to be able to deal with melee
enemy the pet can taunt an enemy (instead of pulling aggro, the enemy
involuntarily attacks the pet for a while and the enemy untarget the witch).
To differentiate it with ranger I was thinking that pet and
demons summoned, by the witch, must be a smart caster but with less resources
than witch and more resources than the ranger pet. And to differentiate it with
the necromancer, witch only can have one summon at the same time.
Geralt from Rivia inspired spec:
I was thinking about a melee spec for witch inspired in
Geralt from Rivia Saga. An agile and magical melee fighter who can drink a
flask to have a large increment of movement speed and attack speed for a short
time, and during this time his vision is strongly enhance so he is invulnerable
to blind and flashbangs. Also, he can cover his weapon in fire to deal fire
damage or elemental damage depending on enemy weaknesses and deal a strong and
elemental damage sword stab.
The idea of the melee witch is a fighter who can be a melee
bulky mage with passive health regeneration abilities and also, through
drinking a special flask or eat a demon soul, he can fight as fast and agile as
an assassin class for a short time. When he drinks his flask he/she gets access
to special and strong abilities only available during flask duration, so when
to drink the flask is strategically crucial during fight.
Remember he is not only a warrior he is also a demonic mage,
so I was thinking something like a hybrid between Shaman Enhancement from wow
and wotlk version of warlock demonology (with metamorphosis).

When you describe the witcher specc. All I hear is alchemist. Its do bad that class inte used enough IMO.
I belive the most fun can be had with basic ideas. I like how the community in Many ways seem to agree and want to make intresting idea from a very grounded Base.

Range tank is possible but I belive witch is the wrong class for it. It sounds like engineer. That could be a sub specc for alchemist or something similar.
