Yeah we will feel very attached to our mounts if we grow it from pets and evolve them into mounts. Not just an icon that you click and *poof* a horse appears :D
At the moment we don't plan on having flying mounts. WIth them you miss everything that our environment artists have done, these games are all about exploring and enjoying your surroundings. Also with flying you skip all the dangers, it's not fun without a little danger.
I want to ride a butterfly!!!

Not a problem, but the butterfly will be grounded and not flying :)

Please NO flying mounts....ever. They destroy everything MMO's are supposed to be about. Player interaction.
Also...please keep mounts out of the Cash Shop. They aren't cosmetic. They affect game play. Mounts in a cash shop = P2W.

This is an interesting thesis. Why mounts in the cash shop break the game, when they are actually only cosmetic, not giving you any kind of advantage?
How a player with a cash shop mount, be stronger than you with a mount from drop?

I was referring to buying actual mounts in the Cash Shop.
My belief is: If it isn't EARNED in the game...it shouldn't be in the game. I know you support a Cosmetic Cash Shop. I think it's a mistake. There are better, and more player friendly ways to implement monetization. Buy to Play+Sub is the easiest way to prevent botting, gold sellers, multi-boxing and cancel-culture kids invading your game. Cash Shops that sell ONLY role-play items like clothes, outfits and emotes and NOTHING connected to gameplay are acceptable IF there isn't a sub.
Cosmetics used to be something good players obtained through hard work and hard fun...not their wallet. Cosmetics used to MEAN something in a game. Cosmetics used to drive players to group up and explore content. The better an item looked...the more powerful it was, the more people PLAYED the game to obtain the item. IN-GAME Cosmetics DRIVE player numbers and player longevity.

Well, I don't agree on the part where preventing botters, etc. with a subscription model works. We know many subscription-based games, where the botters and toxic people are present.
I do agree that back in the days "the better the item looked, the stronger it was", now in most games, the items are intentionally made to not look good in order to buy cosmetics with real-life money. From what I can see, we are going on the path "the better the item looks, the stronger it is". In other words, you will start with a "wooden sword" and look very scruffy, by advancing through the levels you will start to look better and better.
We prefer the game to be free for everyone to play, rather than making them pay to play, not all people can set aside a subscription fee every month. But they can play freely without having to buy cosmetics from the shop. Of course, the cosmetics from the shop will be looking amazing, but that doesn't mean that the items in the game will look awful, you will have a massive variety of items in the game for you to farm, same goes for the mounts.

Monetization is a tough decision. F2P w/Cash Shop is the easy way to garner player numbers. Box + Sub will limit gold seller/bots and "younger" people, but limit player count. MMO's thrive on player count, but at what point is a player an actual player? Does a 5yr old count as a player? Does a chinese gold seller count as a player?
Maybe a modified version of Box + Sub + Cash Shop might be the best option. Box price in place to slow gold sellers, Sub being optional with benefits, and Cash Shop strictly for Non-Combat cosmetics and fun non-p2w items.
An aggressive and robust security backend to prevent botting and gold sellers is a necessity for a F2P game. The gold farms are so advanced and automated it gets ridiculously hard to combat them without planning for them in development. Ban one...and they'll have another account up and running in under a minute.
There are avenues still unexplored for monetization in MMO's. It's possible to have the cash shop and not sell combat cosmetics, but nobody wants to explore them. I'm not against companies making money...as a business owner I'm all for it. It IS possible to blend the old MMO ways with the new. Nobody seems to want to put forth the effort to discover or implement them.
I know I'm not changing your mind, or even attempting to. I'm just thinking out loud. The MMO genre is in it's worst state in 20+ yrs and is begging for a new game that breaks some molds. I long for the days when you could look at a player and KNOW that they earned an item through game play and not their wallet. Maybe there's a way to have a cash shop and easily know what a player has earned? I believe a blending of old and new is the way the next successful MMO needs to go to be successful.

100% agree, f2p is the best way to go to get "player numbers", but someone who really wants the game to success, like I do, would understand than there's a lot of work and a lot of people who must eat, so I absolutely would pay again for the game if there's going to be b2p or f2p with subscription and benefits, or nice cosmetic shop with no p2w.
I would like to open one very interesting and vast topic.
Yes as you already know that is the Mounts discussion.
Give us what you've got, everything you were missing in other games (and I'm sure that you have some pretty big ideas).
I personally would like to catch and tame my mount or to buy a little newborn horse and look after it for some time, feed it, teach it, and after it is big and strong enough I will get it a saddle and ride it. Or if it is an elemental I will have to battle it and make it obey my orders. Maybe I find an egg and hatch it and look after it. Or I have to find the rarest metals and learn the hardest building technics to manage and build a mechanical mount. And also watch how the mounts grow and get strong.
We want you to really feel the game, everything to be personal. We want you to make efforts for every weapon, armor, mount, and stuff like that. We want you to have feelings like satisfaction when you find the desired weapon or armor, to feel love about your mount like a real live pet.
I really don't get satisfaction from buying a mount from the store and just click to learn on it. Or to make a really easy quest and win a mount.
Everything I say is conceptual and I don't know if we are going to have mechanical or flying mounts or stuff like that.
Yours truly,
Julian Mihaylov

Not the best first impression for me...
I just found out about game. Register and thinking if I should buy supporter or honored pack.
Decided to check forums.
Seeing Mount 101 topic. (mounts are always hot stuff)
Seeing dev speaking as a vanilla WoW player and I already have in mind "i'm spending my money here"
Opening store
Seeing 180* degrees opposite of opening post.
Closing the wallet.
Feeling bad.
You literally said:
