If I want to play a PvP game I play a PvP game and no MMO were PvP is an afterthought or an addition to a PvE centric game. PvP is nice when: It's restricted to areas like Arena matches so everyone who is there wants to participate as well no PvE power gated behind PvP content and most importantly PvP should never impact PvE balancing.
So far no game did this right ever when it wasn't a focused title like DaoC for example where PvE is just something you endure till max level to play PvP to the fullest extend.
Open world PvP isn't open world PvP anymore these days but a gankfest where someone waits in the shadows till the victim is at 10% HP to oneshot and then be proud to be such a big PvP player ^^. There are enough PvP games out there and if there is any form of PvP it should be made obvious because the vast ammount of players in MMOs don't play PvP as a main focus.
When both playstyles are completely sepperated from each other everything is fine because people who want PvP can engage in PvP and people who don't like PvP can opt in or never touch it and everyone wins.

I dislike open world PvP and think there should be separate servers to accommodate both playstyles. I don't like having to look over my shoulder as I am questing, for me that ruins the enjoyment of playing but I know there are a lot of people that enjoy that sort of thing, so if there are PvE servers and PvP servers that should make both sides happy.
Hello dear community!
I would like to know your opinion about world PvP and what you like and don't like about it.

PvP can be exhilarating and exciting. I enjoy PvP because of the challenge of reading an opponent and improving my skill and understanding of a build or class. A lot of PvE mobs just run directly at you and stand there. It can make combat a bit boring - especially if you aren't able to "dodge roll" or "evade" attacks. PvP players typically hop, move, run, and use obstacles to prevent being hit. This makes combat more immersive and entertaining.
However, forcing everyone to do PvP is just as one-sided as forcing everyone to only do PvE. I like how some here are wanting a blend and I feel this is the best approach. I've played the MMOs that have full-force World PvP where you are level 20 and a level 90 player griefs you for 30 minutes and prevents you from completing quests. This is not PvP, it's online bullying and can cause many to lose interest. I think World PvP is a very difficult thing to find a balance with and that is why many games avoid it or create a designated PvP activities, zones, and servers. Some players may enjoy getting ganked at the last moment, being griefed, but I can't say I'm one.
I think having a level restriction window, allow people to disable world PvP, or having risks involved with killing other players is essential to striking that balance. Losing items from your inventory or being killed over and over again while simply trying to level is not fun for me. People have different reasons for playing MMOs; crafting, questing, raiding, social activities, exploring, and role-playing are all other activities others may enjoy doing besides PvP.
PvP should be about skill, not gear quality or level differences. This can create a toxic community that see people as gear scores and then everyone has to follow a "meta" build. Boring. PvP should be challenging but not unfair. Yes, I get life is unfair and that is why I'm trying to escape it via an MMO. Many of the MMOs I've played that had World PvP are heavily P2W and have GACHA mechanics. My "skill" shouldn't be equivalent to the cash I've spent or the amount of money in my wallet. This disenfranchises those under a certain income level.

I think that world PvP has some drawbacks and limitations. I dont like the imbalance and unfaimess that can occur when players of different levels or gear fight each other. I don't like the frustration and annoyance that can result from being ganked, camped, or harassed by other players. I don't like the lack of incentives and rewards for participating in world PvP, and the lack of consequences and accountability for abusing it I don't like the disruption and interference that world PvP can cause to the PvE content and progression of the game. Therefore, I think world PvP should be designed and implemented carefully and thoughtfully, taking into account the feedback and preferences of the players. I think world PvP should be optional and customizabler allowing the players to choose when and how they want to engage in it. I think world PvP should be balanced and regulated, ensuring that the players have a fair and enjoyable experience. I think world PvP should be rewarding and meaningful, providing the players with incentives and benefits for participating in it I think world PvP should be integrated and complementary, enhancing and enriching the PvE content and progression of the game.
It won't be an MMORPG without the thrill of being camped by someone for 2 hours straight in the open world. Open world PvP will always be the most interesting part of an online game since it has a lot of skill and outplaying. I think a good idea will be to ask players if they wish to have their PvP turned on or off. Since some players don't want the hassle of eventually being camped or killed by an enemy faction player they should be able to choose the option to not be able to PvP in the world. I believe this feature can be pretty balanced and good for a healthy community. The people that do choose to have their PvP on should receive some kind of reward or rewards for it since they take the risk of going out into the world and being killed by other people. This feature can be turned off and on in a capital city for example.

I don’t think there should be a restriction on the level difference between the players who can fight each other, because I think that would limit the freedom and the realism of world PvP. I think the players should be able to fight anyone they encounter in the world, regardless of their level or gear. I think this would create a more dynamic and unpredictable environment, and encourage the players to be more careful and strategic. I think this would also create more opportunities for cooperation and teamwork, as the players would have to rely on their allies and friends to help them in difficult situations.
Maybe you can go to a certain NPC or do certain actions to get off your World PvP flag, I really don't like the whole simplicity of doing everything with just a simple click.
The other thing that could be done is making a max level difference, if I'm level 20 and you are 25 we can fight, but if you are level 35 you can't fight me no matter I have world PvP enabled.
I think your idea of going to a certain NPC or doing certain actions to get off your World PvP flag is interesting, but it might be too complicated or time-consuming for some players1. Maybe there could be a cooldown period after you turn off your World PvP flag, so you can’t just switch it on and off whenever you want. I agree with you that there should be a max level difference for open world PvP, but I think 5 levels is too small. Maybe 10 levels would be more reasonable, so there is still some challenge and risk involved. Otherwise, high level players might avoid low level zones altogether, which would make the world less dynamic and immersive.
Just guarantee that high level idiots will not be able to kill low level players, that's all.If max level is 50, so 10 levels difference between players which can attack each other is toooooooo muuuuuuuch. That must be maximum 3-5 levels difference. If mob 5 levels lower that you didn't give you experience, so 5 levels lower player than you will not give you honor too. It's very simple :)
I like the idea of a bounty system or a karma system that punishes players who kill too many low-level players. I think that these systems would create more balance and fairness in the open world PvP. I also think that players should have the option to turn on or off their PvP flag, but they should get some rewards or incentives for having it on. I think that these suggestions would make the world PvP more enjoyable and challenging for everyone.
I have an idea for the game.
The game should have an option to enable or disable PVP.
But having an option to hide players who activated PVE.
This gives the feeling that it is a PVP server.
OK! Lets get real now boys -.-
We need full on PVP TOTAL WAR mayhem!
Remember when WoW launched and it felt more like WORLD than a GAME. Everybody was new, no one knew anything, we all had great stories about when you ganked someone, or when somone ganked you 10 times and you finally got your revange! It important for early game to have this expirience, to feel the world, to be anoyed when someone kills you, to be careful, and to team up with your firend bcz 2v1 you have more chances, then other guy will call his friend, and soon you will have epic 40v40 open world PVP that you will remember for the rest of your life, maybe later we can have ON OFF options when we get used to everything or whatever, i know i wont, bcz that is that... a WORLD.. Ye some ppl dont like it and will cry for PVE bulls*it, i dont like pirate class, so what now lets ban it? Community voted yes, ok, i dont like it but whatever, maybe it will be awesome class idk, point is we dont get all we want, but hear me on on this, we can add/delete class, nerf, buff, change quests bla bla, but world PvP.. it affects everyone, its 50% of the game, it needs to be supported, we need to talk how to enhance that expirience not should we have it or not.
My issue and I have already seen this being said in Discord channel for the game. Two people that was talking and saying ganking people is fun. Well so two level 30 beat one level yeah that is fun for the level 30 layers but you really think that is fun for the level 15. I seen far to much of this and is why if this game goes full pvp I am gone. I am not going to play ashes of same reason. It should be a choice of each player if they wan to pvp or not. Cause if you force I bet your loss a big player base just look at other full pvp games with no choice.
