I think it’s important to allow the choice when in a group. Whether it be by voting or selected by the leader. However for pugs with random players, personal is much easier.
a key note I’d like to make is the possibility of a two wave item need/greed setup with some considerations. Let’s say a plate helmet drops with offensive stats on it. Only those that are currently in a class and specialization when the item drops can roll need. If all press greed, others that CAN equip that item for another specialization that they are not using currently will also have a greed button show up. And they will be allowed to roll on the item. As with all drops, a player may trade with any party member that was present at the time of the drop, if they wish.
Yeah, I too think that is the fairest thing for loot in group dungeons because I'm pretty sure all of us hate ninja looters pretty much, that grab everything they can even if they don't need it, just to sell it.
