I like to do some comparrisions to wow aswell. But I will go at it slightly diffrently.
Could BRD exists as a part of the world without being a dungeon?
Yes. It is naturally built, it matches buildings and tunnels of the zone etc.
Could BFD be a raid?
Sure but all the lore and fun bits would be glossed over.
Thing is Raids are not a good place to tell stories. I think the only raids I truly ever liked in wow as an example are Karazhan and perhaps Naxx.
But then again Kara was a 10man, meaning you could still be shown a story.
I hope devs take time to make large dungeons. Dungeons that makes sence with nice artitecture and intresting places to go. I never minded spending 4 hours in BRD or BRS. Because it was so much fun, with so much questiong, storytelling and places to explore. I hope devs think about that. Raid that take ours can be really boring, dungeons that take hours is where memories, friendships and memes are born.
Raids is a challange, dungeons are something else. I really really hope devs agree with that. Raid are not suppose to be long drawn out slugfests. they are suppose to be a few advanced challanges. But when I invite you guys and enter a dungeon I would love to spend ours with you guys getting to know this new place we found.
Totally agree, actually in WoW I hate that important parts of the lore are in raids, I prefer Dungeons to be important for story , to explore, if you are playing with friends you can take your time to complete the questing and read dialogues, I love it, I love those hidden jokes between dialogues that's what creates really good memories there's where you can relate to some NPCs. In raids is very difficult to have 10-30 players waiting for you to enjoy the lore and story.
I don't mind spending 2 hours to complete a dungeon
EXAMPLE
The night before yesterday I just completed "Wailing caverns" in WoW with my girlfriend (I just started playing after many years trying to get hooked by it), that dungeon and zone is dead like almost all old content, so we were just us, 2 players, level 13 I guess, we died a few times, but we managed to complete all bosses almost dying like at 5% health or something, we completed all the quests, but I cannot describe how much I enjoyed fighting strategically so we didn't get swarmed by all the NPCs, looking for shortcuts, complaining about old good content being obsolete, it was just fun, I enjoyed it, the only game that made me feel like that with almost all dungeons has been ESO and the old content is always full of new and veteran players, asking for help and helping.
I KNOW THAT'S AN EASY DUNGEON, but it was fun and I'm sure it could have been more difficult if I wasn't an experienced MMO player.
