As not only a fan if not descended from a druid culture already extinct but still in force in popular culture.
I have to clarify many things which the druids must carry and understand.
The first thing to understand about the druids is that they are not really something so separate from a cleric or a priest, for the Celtic and Welsh cultures they were the maximum union between heaven, earth and by inertia gods and humans.
Therefore, they should not wear leather armor, but fabrics adorned with decorations not only of nature but also with entities linked to it.
We really know little about the druids in our world as much of their knowledge was lost after conquests and conquests.
But we must understand that they were not only priests but also seers, beings with such a prophetic point that they were believed not only to be envoys from gods but also humans in the process of becoming gods.
Their equipment should not be extensive as such, since staves are something that every druid must carry since being in communion not only with the gods but with men they have to walk and defy miles of natural disasters which the divinities have arranged for them.
In turn, if we think of weapons as they are really cultists, they can carry knives for their sacrifice such as sickles which represent the crops and the cycle of life and death.
Another factor of the druids is that they are mostly isolated people in their training, they have little more than what the convent in which they participate gives them and scarce clothing such as cloth or branches and bark of trees.
Thus they tend to be sullen at first, few druids really getting used to urban life.
The general idea of leather armor was an idea inspired mostly by a combination between shamans, a very common confusion in the general culture.
To come up with the idea of wearing plates or mail would be blasphemous for any druid, since the refining of an ore is the total definition of human work, something without a soul that only exists without a meaning.
One weapon I can think of is Runes, runes which are correlated to visions and deities, they float around the druid attacking from a distance as the druid casts spells. You must carry a simple religious painting on your wrist which fuses with these runes to provide them not only with divine power but also with a connection between the two.
