Hey!
I just wanted to make a post in summary of all suggestions for alot of classes. Im writing this topic under the warrior class since im a warrior player since 2004 in a lot of mmorpg games. But this opinion is strechted on all classes.
I see alot of cool suggestions by people in the topics of the classes. But I kinda feel like the people forget, its an "mmorpg" and not some sort of fantasy-soloplayer-rpg game. It feels like ppl forget that theres also a thing called "balancing". And if you overcomplicate classes, creating a balance will be way harder. I mean atleast for the start. For example: I also like a "gladiator, half tank half dps thingy" like some ppl wished. But think about the balance. WoW also tried to introduce it, but its just an disaster. Let me try to explain it on the gladiator example:
Gladiator should be able to tank (otherwise it wouldnt make sense to make him tanky for any group-activitys) - but since he should do more dmg then a "Normal" tank, he also should take more.
So when do you want to use a Gladiator? Only for encounters where adds to tank? or can he also offtank a boss? if he can, than a "normal" tank should tank this boss so way easier, that he can be eather undergearead or almost dont need healing. Because, if both can tank a boss, why should ppl ever invite a "normal" tank - or if gladiator takes to much dmg, why should you ever invite a gladiator?
I dont know if i could visualise my thoughts, since my english is also not that great. But i hope you get the point. I would just love to start at the roots, with the class-fantasy the classes were ment to be - like warrior with his raw-power and stuff like that. Special stuff can be introduced with time and experience.
What are your thoughts?

I think that the comment you shared is a valid concern about the balance and complexity of classes in MMORPG games. I agree that some classes can be overcomplicated or overpowered, and that this can make the game less fun and fair for other players. I also agree that it is important to respect the class-fantasy and the role of each class in the game, and not to make them too similar or generic.
However, I disagree that it is impossible to create a balanced and diverse class system, even with some hybrid or special classes like the gladiator. I think that with careful design and testing, it is possible to create classes that have different strengths and weaknesses, and that can complement each other in different situations. For example, a gladiator could be a viable option for solo players who want to deal more damage and survive longer, but also a risky choice for group players who need to coordinate with their team and manage their aggro. A gladiator could also have some trade-offs, such as lower defense, mobility, or utility than a normal tank, or lower damage, range, or versatility than a normal DPS.
I think that having some variety and customization in classes can make the game more interesting and fun, as the player can choose the class that suits their playstyle and preference, and also experiment with different builds and strategies. I think that this can also create more replay value and challenge for the game, as the player can try different classes and face different scenarios and enemies. I think that this is the goal of MMORPG games, to create a rich and immersive world where the player can explore, interact, and have fun with other players.
