Whew.
The pre-alpha test is now over, and I, as the first-ever Honorable (I won't stop bragging about it), can leave a final thought on the whole experience.
Overall, the test went smoothly in my eyes, and the 5 days provided were plenty, so every one of the Honorable/Supporter users could enjoy a bit of a change in their everyday life.
The content was not enough to allow extensive playtime, but boy, was it an improvement in the right direction compared to the previous one!
Everything from the little details, such as moving independently with your mouse solely, to the unfished, yet well-made mount system was great!
The mounts have some AI in them, following the terrain in order to reach you, which is purely fantastic!
The designated mount/dismount and despawn mount buttons are a really handy nice touch, that's truly helpful.
NPCs greet you when you approach them. Yes, even from the enemy factions! (silly Sacred Order)
Party system that works without any flaws, and just needs a bit of polish.
The ability to change my key-binds, in a game that's not yet released, but has this feature?! - some games do not have this feature until 1 year after release!
Steady server connectivity, with good fps, while the graphics look more than amazing, and the art style is just gorgeous!
The product appears to be already optimized, and we are in a PRE-Alpha stage! - what a blessing.
There were of course some issues, the game is not finished yet, nor is it polished.
And this is the sole reason for those early pre-alpha testings - so we can break it, in order for the devs to rebuild it more robust and better!
The fact that you could hear everyone else's steps on the map, regardless of their current location compared to yours, was a bit tough on the ears, but turning down the "Sound" volume setting, while leaving the "Music" one, compensated for this flaw.
Some inventory issues occurred as well, however, they were fixed in no time, due to the highly effective "bug-report" Discord channel.
Also, some hilarious interactions with "the ladder". People will know what I am talking about, lol.
Hopefully, we can see some more working systems including (but not limited to) some basic combat, skill trees, working titles, action bars, and many more in the nearest future!
-And less invisible walls. We want to break stuff!
I really think this pre-alpha test was a success in many ways and showed the BB team, that they are doing quite a good job, and are definitely heading in the right direction!
It shows that they are passionate about the project, and are putting heart, sweat, and tears into it!
I am looking forward to the next test phase!
Regards,
Shock
