The current races traits seem very generic, and some are forcing you to choose a specific class. I think it would be better if each race had a pool of 10 or so traits to choose from, and you could choose 3. This would complement the class you are planning to play as well. So for example a dwarf could have a pool of traits like:
Thick Skin - Reduces the final damage taken by 5%
Mountain's Vigor - Increases the max HP by 10%
Master Craftsman - Increases damage done by any ammunition based weapon (bow, gun, crossbow, etc.) by 5%
Faith Warden - Increases the duration of all buffs by 20% (Minimum 3 seconds longer)
Dwarven Heritage - Increases damage by 5% when using a mace, axe or hammer weapon.
The Fortress - Gives 5% chance to completely nullify any damage when wielding a shield.
Brave Heart - When engaging a new enemy, the first damaging spell/skill casted by that enemy does 33% less damage.
The Great Librarian - Increases damage with elemental spells by 5%
Small in Size - Makes you more difficult to detect while using stealth like spells
Dwarven Vigor - Poison, Bleed, Silence, etc. duration reduced by 30%
Each player would choose 3 out of them all. (These are just basic ideas to show what kind of traits there could be).

That sounds very interesting, I will forward that for discussion with the team.

This is an awesome idea. It gives each race a bit of diversity but also doesn't push characters to be a certain class
e.g. dwarf have +5% health so is best for tanks. Where as Elves don't get that buff so if you choose a warrior you can't tank as well.
Where as with this option, Elves might have a Nimble in Nature option which gives +2% dodge which is good for tanking.
And the elf option for Dwarven Heritage (above) could be Elven Heritage which gives 5% extra damage with rapiers, swords and daggers.
---------------------------------------
Though I'd make sure there is a way to swap them out (via quest or respec style vendor) so if I want to DPS while leveling, I can still respec to tank at end game etc.
And is there any talk of Dual Spec (even if it's on a 2h+ cooldown (preferred))? Would your chosen racials in this case change too?
P.S. this trait for the infernal demons is super OP for any raids etc.
Dark Ritual
Places a ritual circle for 7s. All enemies inside receive 5% more damage from all sources.
That's a huge DPS boost vs bosses.
Damn, this is a very good idea, im really looking forward to see how this evolves. So anyone can play any race and class without sticking to the traits-class meta.
well, thats Sir is a great idea. It also gives the Players so much more freedom to design their Character abilitys. Cant wait to see, what combinations could be possible with a system like this.
