I actually think a combination between personal loot and group loot would be really nice. All the junk items should be personal, as well some of the materials. high tier legendaries should be group loot. class related items should be on independent loot between the specific class - let's say 1 assassin item drops from boss X it should be lootable only by assassins but they have to roll for it.

Yeah but this doesn't seem like a big deal to restrict some items be equipped by only leather users, or plate users or cloth users. And therefore to be equipped by only assassins, hunters, warriors, etc. Maybe some items would fit for both assassins and dps warriors so they can both roll on that drop. Seems fair to me because NOT EVERYTHING IS A HUNTER ITEM!!!!!!

Yes this doesn't seem like a bad idea. but therefore you won't need to call the items plate,mail,leather,cloth - they will be simply warrior item hunter item assassin item etc. so maybe some item types should be able to be equipped by few classes at once.
The loot system is maybe one of the most difficult to balance. For sure, there should be personal loot for everyone who made damage to the creep but there should be also something for the healers who don't attack for example. The personal loot can be coins/gold or whatever is the main currency in the game + some common type of items. Lets say if the items in the game are rated as common, rare, epic, legendary, the personal loot can have up to epic items and the legendary items are only for roll. Here we can have another issue - how will be able to roll for an item? Only the ones which made some damage? What about the healers? Also, what will happen if people not in party or from different parties killed together a creep? This can be avoided if legendary items can be obtained only from dungeons and every party has it own separate raid.

The best loot is that of the L2, the truth is that we would have to look at that game very well and base many of the game mechanics on it.
It is the best and most complicated MMO on the market, in fact I would like it to be a little easier to get the kit, especially since you are forced to participate with people, there is no way to get to the top by yourself.
