I agree, but not all people get the chance or have the time to invest in becoming a raider in a guild, so pugs happen. It wouldn't be great if they get punished for not having enough time to play the game. And we all know what became of WoW raiding guilds - basically tiers of people that will/might/won't go to raids, mainly based on who has the most time to play the game. Community is great, I only hope there's room for all kinds of people and it's not hardcore-gamer oriented.
Hello, everyone!
That thing whit the auto loot is just making the game so easy. Shouldn't be like that... This mean fast farming , fast farming means alot of mats for profs and etc, which means economy is ruined. Because there will be no challenging content.
About the dungeon looting, should be as the owner said. Each raid specify their raid loot system "free for all", "master loot" and so on. This add another level of difficulty building your BIS.
Of course this is my opinion, but the games you say are no longer interested by gamers, the right template is World of Warcraft. They have shown us what people like, and you guys should take the best things of it. I know its stupid if other player get your most wanted item but thats the game, and that makes you raid and raid over and over, otherwise developers should make release every 6 mounts so we have something new to achiev.
Auto looting doesn't make anything easier except that fact that you might miss a mob drop while manually looting a group of 10+ mobs. And if it's made switchable between manual and automatic everyone will be happy.

This is how you can force people to make communities and use them. Not just some random people pressing buttons. MMoRPG is a game of a community.

Personally I like to find solitude in an MMORPG thus I am a solo player by nature and heart. I don't really like relying on others and I prefer to get things done by myself most of the time so I will probably avoid being in a guild or a close community. I prefer honing my solo skills mostly so I think the thing that Playnot said is pretty accurate.

Okay I understand your point, but there is no way for you to finish raid/dungeon as solo adventure. This is why you need others to help you.
If you know these other guys, the whole adventure is having completely another vibe. Am I not right?

MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER online role playing game. (I'll just leave this here). A lot of single player RPGs out there you know.

It doesn't matter if its an MMORPG. I prefer an MMORPG so I can get better at the game versus other people. That doesn't mean I enjoy grouping or being in a guild. I like the competitive aspect of the game more than grouping or socializing thus I spend most of my time honing my own skills and playing solo to advance my mechanics and game knowledge. Like I said I don't mind grouping, but I won't usually be seen in a group or guild environment.

I'm not saying you should be able to solo the content. Ofcourse all MMORPG's are meant to be played together with other people so you can achieve the endgame, but that is not my playstyle is what I was saying. I don't mind grouping to clear content it's just that I avoid doing it and I am not saying you should make the game more solo-player like. I am just throwing my own playstyle for the discussion as an argument for Playnot's statement, but his logic is also valid that the more casual players will be left behind in groups especially if they are premade and there is an open door for toxicity against them.

I totally understand your introvert thing there. I share some of this experience myself š that's why I am a big fan of multiboxing but usually mmos' are not constructed that way and multiboxing is punishable in most games. Anyways making a direct in-game community doesn't sound bad when you badly need something like mats for crafting help for leveling or a boss or two.

(*Whispers* you are not aloneee)
Let's not get away of the topic please. It is sure that this is going to be a community based game where best loot is obtained by playing with/against others.

I totally agree with you here. We are discussing the loot now! I am in for a personal loot system that can be manual of auto. Group loot for more rare items like rare gear or even mounts. And everything personal that drops and you don't want to simply trade with someone doesn't need to be from the group or the guild and that's for the soulbond items but not every item should be soulbond less rare gear have to be able to trade therefore the auction houses will be full and even if you can't find a weapon or armour that suits you best you could simply buy it.
And that's my final statement for the loot system.
