Hello! I have a question about the talent system and what it will be. Is it going to be like the World of Warcraft old or new talent system, or maybe something similar to Path of Exile talent system? Is there gonna be different specializations for every class according to the talents they choose, or we will be able to create our own playstyle by mixing the different talents? For the abilities - are we going to learn them on a specific level from an NPC or we will be unlocking them from the talents or gemstones ( like it is in PoE)? If there will be different class specializations with separate talent trees I would love to be able to mix them a bit in order to create some hybrid build that would be viable at least to some point of the game whether it will be at the beginning or at the endgame content.

IMO Talent trees can be utilized well if there is a clear difference in purpose. For example, a tree that heals and a tree that tanks. Both can be superior depending on what you want to do (with minor branches of the tree being more of a preference and not changing output substantially).
Talent trees become broken when you have a pure class (pure dps or pure healer) that have multiple trees to do the same thing, just in a different way. Thats when optimization and balance becomes a road block.

The reality of talent tree is what above posters have posted, there will always be a superior option in a pool of options given, aka the "meta". The thing about metas though, they are only metas for a given objective or event. A PvP meta usually won't be the meta for PvE. Small scale PvP meta is usually different than a large scale PvP meta, so on and so forth. Even basic concepts like stat choices has a meta. You won't see warriors running around with intellect gear (even though they can) because strength is usually the "meta" and makes your character the most powerful.
Talent tree system is just another option based system that lets player choose what they want to be good at with their character. I'd have to play with my plants and really think about this and how we could minimize or balance the system to make the majority of the player base happy, and feel "meta" at at least one aspect of the game.
