This week we are going to discuss the Orc Race.
The first discussion topic is about the Environment & Architecture of the Orc Race
Wide open grass plains? Or maybe rugged dry terrain? Stone buildings with leather roofs and windows? Wooden buildings with animal bones?
How would you make the Environment & Architecture different from the "standard" one?
ENGLISH VERSION:
I know I'm going to jump to the most obvious conclusion, but from what I could see there is no other way of looking at where the orcs currently live that doesn't fit them better (or at least from my point of view).
From what I could read, the orcs just arrived on the mainland, jumped straight into the war against the humans alongside the undead, aiding the demons and winning the war soon after. This likely led to the Domination alliance forcibly expanding into human territory by creating various outposts or using the ruins of ancient human settlements.
This leads to destructive deforestation, and the ever-expanding annihilation of fauna, flora and resources as they go, causing destruction in their wake.
I think that the orc settlements and cities are surrounded by destruction and the lack of raw materials in the surroundings, and that their constructions vary depending on the resources previously distributed in the place.
For example: Wooden forts surrounded by countless felled tree stumps, Holes in the mountains or large mines with forts or walls nearby, Fauna completely extinct with their fur now covering the roofs of huts, etc.
Greetings from a little wolf in his forest, who likes to dream <3
I suppose you are talking about the main Orc zone. Taking into account the Soil-Birthing festivities, they have to be close to the sea and mountains (maybe inactive volcano) with some open ground, but with a lot of predators and dangers.
As for architecture I like the stone + leather + bone combination for Orcs.
How to make different from "standard"?
Instead of the common huge tusks and skulls placed, Orcs can be Masters of bone carving, they can shape huge bones for their buildings, armor and weapons, there are gonna be huge creatures with huge bones over there, that can make them different.
Their buildings can look primitive at first view, but with an amazing bone carving art.

I must say, the "master bone carvers" idea is pretty cool indeed.
And yeah it's hard to change how the Orcs are shown everywhere, destruction, flora and fauna completely inexistant, etc.
Bonecrafting could be a sub-profession of the Jewelcrafting that Orcs gain bonus exp for example 🤔
I think...mountain range with ice, snow, sheltered by a circle of mountains from the harsh blizzard, swarming around fire , cooking meat, with the harsh environment yet cheerful faces , a magic circle appears in this village it's a demon asking for aid for the humans are invading their town , orcs don't need any preparation as they are always holding their weapons and wearing their armor and furious to fight they reach the town under the mountains BAM an explosion magic circle activates they have been betrayed the demon giggles for they decieved the orcs...no one knows about it they blame the humans for the casualties and continue to seek world domination by being the leaders of the Domination and fighting every other race in existence so they be the only rulers of the world BAM bamboozled everyone...sorry for that I just went along
About the architecture I think houses and castles of rock and snow as the hardest thing is rock and what breaks rock is water (you know when rain hits mountains)so they believe the snow must not melt and they must maintain this harmony in the snowy mountains or..you know water breaks rock so if the snow melts it cracks rock..that is just a part of their wisdom acquired through aged and ages of philosophy...BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE if it happens and the ice melts they use fire magic because fire evaporates the water and done house safe

Thank you! Actually I was thinking about Bone carving being a similar to jewelry crafting but different profession.
Jewelcrafting makes earrings, rings, necklaces, etc, all for the body.
Bone carving can make some "amulets/adornments" that can be equiped on weapons and/or armors to increase the stats, resources or add a different effect.
That way bones can be a resource also instead of junk for selling. Bone as resource can benefit Housing, Alchemy and even Enchanting I think
But the combat system should be finished first I think.
And about Orcs, you already gave the Orcs a different image with the soil birthing festivities, showing they respect nature, they just play in the Law of the Jungle, kill or be killed by the environment rich in natural resources but with lot of dangers.
Orcs can live in a high reward-high risk environment. Think of them like surviving in Ark Survival Evolved, the more danger the best and more resources you get from the dinosaurs and nodes.
That hard environment makes them strong, only the strongest survive, that's why Orcs are feared. And that's why they have high natality.
High natality isn't the same that high population, as I said, only the strongest survive.
