This game needs the exact same type of world pvp as wow vanilla
Do not start with comparisons, except for the similarities ... that was already ... the ideal is a balanced and good pvp.
Por ejemplo New World.

Servidores PvP y Servidores PvE.

-IN ENGLISH-
I agree with you, if the game is full PVP without any type of PVE server, then it seems great to me anyway, but it would be nice if there was a specific server for PVE, that way I would not have problems, everyone in peace with their favorite modes, I never understood this war who is better for being PVP or PVE.
I have some awesome memories that bring tears to my eyes when I remember the early days of WoW, TBC and WotlK specially (I didn't really know what I was doing in vanilla :D). We raided Orgrimmar so many times, we made parties and killed Horde in Gadgetzan. When I was leveling, everytime a see a Horde my heart started racing, and when they come and don't kill me, but instead they wave or smtn, the feeling was awesome.
I know that these feelings are going to stay in the past, all my friends have families, IRL responsibilities, etc. But what we can do is try to build the game, so that for the generations to come, to have the opportunity to make the same type of memories in our game.
I love GW2, but I really missed the open world PvP and the ability to Duel in front of the capitals. I've made so much friends Dueling and testing my build, that I think this is a must.
We will try to implement everything known and make it better if possible, also we will try to go even bigger.
Absolutely should have world PvP, but of course it needs to be well thought out and players need to understand an evolution of a feature. The vision and intent of the dev team for world PvP needs to be clearly conveyed to the community so expectations can be managed. Mechanisms should be in place to mitigate frustration to players that are either afraid of world PvP or who are way under powered to go up against predators. However I strongly encourage and enjoy titles that have PvP mandatory areas.
A key component lost in modern MMOs is unique and exclusive. Not every player has to be entitled to every single thing if they aren't willing to take on the risk for it. No risk it, no biscuit.
If PvP will be gated behind certain areas, or flagging features, then players who refuse to PvP should not be entitled to reap the same benefits. If PvP will be rewarding anything at all that is... E.G., A zone that has mandatory PvP enabled, you cannot enter the zone without being subjected to it, has X amount of content in it, can only be obtained by those willing to throw down. That doesn't necessarily mean every zone needs to be PvP mandatory. However the world needs to feel risky, I personally far more enjoy my experience when there is threat lurking and I am not 100% safe. It is also an element of social interaction, with threats lurking around the corner, players should communicate and work together to combat those threats.
With that being said, of course there should not be reward for a high level/powerful player to gank a lowbie. Could also level balance based on zones or debuffs to players that engage lowbies.
Hey,
Since i’ve start to play at MMORPG i’m a huge fan of PvP. So i’ve few propositions, btw excuse me for my English, as it’s not my native language i’ll try to do my best without using any kind of translator ^^. So we could have maybe differents places where the PvP is always activated and others where it’s not possible, about that i don’t know how the game is designed but maybe put PvP area in « hotspot » locations, i mean where there are strategic and rare ressources.
2nd possibility is to have something like rift location where each faction could enter to attack map on others factions like on Aion, like that u’ve not full PvP every time but for PvP players u have opportunity.
I’m a huge fan of PvP, for me in a mmorpg it’s the most important part, and please don’t do arena, that’s just so boring and there is no interested in a sandbox game.
Player friction makes the MMO world go round. Without friction, there can be no bad. Without bad, there can be no good. Faction vs. Faction implies that the ENTIRE faction will fight the ENTIRE other faction. The point of an MMO is playing with OTHER players in a violent world, full of danger, and to be a hero for your FACTION. Those calling for "PvP Toggles" or "Level Restrictions" don't truly understand the importance of a Faction defending it's base and fellow players in a Faction based PvP game. In Original Vanilla WoW (another Faction vs. Faction game until Blizzard destroyed it) you could kill most of the other Factions NPC's, and if a low level player was getting camped...all they had to do was ask for help in chat and multiple players would come rescue them. MMO players today don't understand that player friction leads to parties, guilds, game longevity, player retention, and most importantly...lifelong friendships. Your "safe-space" doesn't belong in a PvP MMO with warring factions. Without the bad...there can be no good.
