Hello again! Haven't posted anything in a while now, but a blessing from the false gods came upon me!
A new profession called Architect. Since we have talked about how the game will include player housing there could be more to it instead of your place where u afk all day. There could be some guys working as architects. So basically they can build building for somebody else and themselves ( not for a cheap price of course). But why? Because if u want to work as a blacksmith you need your armory with anvils with forges and so on. Ok but why make this be generated by the game only. You can master your profession in your home's backyard if an Architect built you nice workplace. You want a garden to collect herbs? okay let an architect build it for you if not go out in the open world! You want to skin some wolves? well I am sure you cant really breed wolves in your backyard just to kill them use the meat for cooking and the skin for skinning -> leatherworking but you can absolutely breed sheeps, pigs, big birds and more. Same for leatherworkers alchemists, enchanters and so on. If you want to master your profession in your own backyard you are gonna need an architect. Because we want the open world to be actually filled with people and them not afking in their homes this will not really harm the open world population because to build something you are gonna need a lot and I mean A LOT of materials and a fair price for the architect. Also the profession should not be easy to max out. Maybe it could be improved through quests at the beginning and at some point you will have to build building for other players and yourself which will consume a lot of materials therefore the profession will take a lot of time to max out. Of course a lot of the materials should remain in the open world and not be able to cultivate in ur garden. but to master a profession(such as Blacksmithing leather working etc. ) in such medieval times you'd need your hammer or knife and some time in your workshop.
Of course this could be used only for the crafting professions and not for the gathering ones to ensure the population in the open world gathering materials but I still think its a must for the player housing and all the other things we talked about professions at all in here and discord. :)
Regards,
Shock! :)
I liked the idea but there should be some kind of npc help or something to let people start anything without totally depending on architechs.
