Ahoy, Me Hearties! Avast ye as we are going to talk about the Pirate Specialisations!
DPS but would it be Melee or Ranged, maybe a Hybrid? How about Support, with Bombs, Grenades, and stuff like that?
A Tank with e Cannon?
Oh shiver me timbers, the pirate is a hell of a class!
As Norm once said, "Weaponry it's the way to get it done, weaponry its effective and its fun". A mix of ranged atacks and melle combat, explosives would also be nice. We could have tank specs based on area controll with cannons and overall just being a menace to everything that oposes them, what about dps then? Ofc se go for good ol' gun and sword, shoot em up and slice em down. Finally for a suport, make things go boom? Sea magic to heal and buff? As the pun goes, the world is your oister.

His damage could be characterized by the critical and through these he can unleash additional effects, for example: Critical with the saber, adds bleeding. Critical with the pistol, buff mov speed or atk speed.
Like Supp, this one could be focused on a more aggressive version rather than a defensive one, providing buffs that improve stats like damage, critical, atk speed, or playing with area blasts that slow down or add on-hit effects to allies. Grenades are a good option for this or maybe summon some cannon fire.
The idea of a huge cannon in hand still sounds appealing to me. For Cannon Tank, this could be more focused on burst damage and hard cc control, lifting and knocking enemies back with explosions, dealing damage in the process and perhaps breaking armor.
A tank that uses an anchor as a weapon
A tank that uses an anchor as a weapon
That was mine xD
Someone else said something about the "Viking pirate" being a tank & i find it a good idea altough it may be difficult to distinguish it from warriors.

I love the idea of a hybrid between a ranged and melee DPS, I think we should choose the specializations in 3 branches then: Honorable Swordsman, the one who does not come from behind, the cheater who will always resort to dirty tricks and low blows and finally the hybrid that will be able to shoot with its pistols, grenades or bombs and at the same time know how to defend itself hand-to-hand.
I like the idea of a support/DPS spec with a tiny bit of healing! It could focuson buffs and debuffs and is a pet class.
It could be called the "Captain" and it is all about "encouraging" your team mates and "trash talking" the enemy to provide buffs and debuffs "fight harder yah scallywags!!". In addition to that they could have a parrot or other such animal that they could use to harass and damage enemies!
They could wear cloth and leather (think frilly hats, sashes and great coats) and weild light firearms and light one handed weapons.
The main focus wouldn't be raw Dps but stacking the odds of the fight in the favor of your party.
Swashbuckler: Ranged DPS/Support - Long range weapon, musket, rifle, ect. Possible pet/grenades/anchor
Buccaneer: Melee DPS/Tank - Dual Wielding hand cannon and 1h melee weapon
Brigand: Ranged DPS/Tank - Mounts onto a cannon and can hop off to avoid damage. Cannon has HP bar when not mounted. Or can deploy cannon as a turret and use a secondary weapon to attack.
