I really like the idea of getting your first mount almost immediately after you create the character, but you get it as a little pet. While you level your character, you also level up your mount, feeding it, petting it etc. and when you hit max level, your mount will be grown and rideable but you have to make a quest chain learning to ride it.

The part with the feeding and if not well fed loosing it, I'm not much of a enthusiast, I've played Black Desert Online and there your horse gets really slow when it gets exhausted and it's pretty annoying I must say.

Maybe we can customize our mounts, different saddles, armor, banners, bags etc. Maybe even evolve them (like Pokemon 😁) and make them look different and getting faster.

Also I like the Guild Wars 2 mounts, every mount has a unique ability, one jumps really high, other can hook up on a mountain, third flies, runs faster etc.

I absolutely disagree with the point where u have to feed ur mount to not lose it. This seems like the worst idea of all especially when mounts would be something u buy from the cosmetics in-game shop. This feature will make the game even more grindy instead of focusing on the important features. Having mount related quests, and mount related abilities is ok, but losing ur mount really sounds like a bad bad idea.

I don't care that much about losing an mount if its really easy to keep him alive. Like, your mount only is going to die if you keep a week without feeding or something like that. And when you feed him, you immediatly get you mount back.

I am really pro- the idea of doing something (either tame, challenge and defeat, or some kind of test in general to tame the mount). I also support that different mounts should have different feed, for example my dragon won't like it if I feed it seaweed etc. For me personally having a mount in a game is really great (especially if it can develop itself to become stronger, better, faster or even grow in size as it levels up/gets better stats). But what if we have something similar for the mounts (deriving from FFXIV) with the class mounts - meaning, that dependent on the class or race of the player maybe we can have some gear for our companions? SO they can be matching our shiny armor or something like that (maybe some ppl from the RP community will like it as well).

I don't appeal to the idea of "not feeding the mount will cause it to flee after X amount of days", because what if you can login daily to feed it etc., BUT I think a loyalty system will do well (especially if the developers pick up the idea of them being picked up as pets at start/after taming). For example if you are loyal to your mount and take care of it it can develop faster and vice versa, causing it to flee (and never return :( or perma death).

Different category of mounts, for example heavy mounts, lighter mounts or balanced sound a good idea as well, depending if they are land creatures, elementals or
    bi-/quadrupeds (or more legs 8,10,12 ).

But all in all a mount is one of you best buds and companions after all in games :)

Please don't mess the mount and the companion. If you want companion - brush him, give him water, feed him, have sex with him or whatever you want but the mount is mount and it's not companion. You bring the mount on level X and you have him and need him, because after level X the quests requires a loooooooooooooooong travel and if you don't have a mount you will uninstall the game. It's simple.

    Regards!

i completly agree, for those who played Ark (the dinmosaur game) it was very intense to raiuse a dinosaur from baby stage to adult and then ride it, could be great to find the same feeling in Soh,and not collect 1500 mount in order to never use all of them, like in Wow

    Hi!

One thing I miss is having to tame mounts. I come from the age where Ultima Online was king and the taming system was awesome, where you had to tame the mount, yes, but in order to do so, you would have to follow a quest to reach the spawn point. The quest rewards were the clues to the right coordinates where the mounts would spawn and the rarest ones would be normally somewhere inside the hardest dungeons or in the remotest of places in a forest hidden with the vegetation! Also, they wouldn't always be available, making us doubt if that was really the place and second guessing our deduction skills from the quest clues. Some would only spawn 1 every month, so having a rare mount really meant, RARE! In games from that moment on, "rares" aren't rares at all because everyone can have them and that takes all the fun out of having a "rare" mount nowadays in any games imo.

    So in conclusion for me:

    - Having to tame the mount (ofc you could have a system where you can also buy them because if they are really rare the price you'll have to pay for them will also be sky-high meaning people will have to work hard for them making the economy move)

    - Having to follow clues to get to where the mount spawns

    - Having to camp for days/weeks to get the mount making the feeling of achievement something that isn't felt when you can have whatever you want with little to 0 effort

    - Have that feeling you get when showing something you have that few or no one else has

Hope it helps in any way!

ps- Also being able to fight while mounted was very cool

I am well aware of the guild wars 2 mount system, as I myself have played it for some time.

There every mount has its own unique ability, one jumps very high, one glides, one flies, one runs very fast etc.

I also miss the old days where MMOs were hard and you have to actually think not just press random buttons and instakill everything.

I totally agree. Today's MMOs are a little too easy, they no longer have that old satisfaction of getting something

Yeah, we don't want to make it too hard, because that will drive casual players off, but we will make things that everything you get, mounts, weapons, armors etc. to be satisfactory, and you to have the feeling that after the hard work you've actually earned it and that way you appreciate it more.

and also while you take care of the little riding puppy you could help it grow with some food.
