Hello everybody,
As you know we at Scars of Honor want to deliver a different game experience than the one you are used to. So once again we are giving the community an opportunity to mold the game with their ideas.
We are asking you what game mechanics you want to see in the game and you have always wanted to see in a MMORPG game. What ever you think of , think out of the box, do not limit your imagination.
Maybe you want your hero to pick up a chicken and throw it to the opponent , why not. You want to slice a tree or maybe to pick up a rock , everything is possible. Think of everything , character movement and gestures , interacting with the environment , maybe a game of tic-tac-toe go for it.
Every suggestion is highly appreciated.
Yours truly,
Yulian Mihaylov

Well here is a list of things I would like to have in the perfect MMORPG:
1. Action based combat - I know you have already announced that the game will have tab targeted system but since it is pretty early in developement I wonder if it's possible to change that.
2. Cartoony graphics which I see you are already going for
3. Interesting story - a huge part of every MMO
4. Interesting quests - less of the kill 5 boars thing (also action combat makes levelling and killing mobs 10 times more fun and thats why I'm once again asking you to rethink your decision)
5. Open world - no loading screens between zones and no invisible walls
6. Interesting side features - for example look at Wildstar - you get to choose your path when you create your character (scientist, explorer, soldier etc.) which later makes your journey in the world way more interesting
7. Level scaling zones - you get to level in every available zone no matter whats your level
8. Challenging levelling - maybe some open world bosses who need 2-3 people to beat with a few mechanics you should consider while fighting them or having to find a way to climb a very high mountain
9. Gathering and crafting - wouldn't be an MMO without these
10. Destructable stuff - I've always liked it when games let me chop trees or hit rocks with a pickaxe
11. PVP - open world pvp, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 arenas, battlegrounds, castle sieges, wars between factions for a zone in the open world or maybe some guild vs guild stuff (warplots in Wildstar for example), duels (it's very frustrating when you can't challenge a stranger to a duel like in GW2 so please include it)
12. PVE - dungons and raids are a must but some extra pve content like open world bosses, fights with mobs in arenas or some grindy tower mode which gets harder with every floor are always welcome
13. Skills over gear - make it so a player cauld beat another player even if his gear is far worse when his skills are superior. Or said otherwise - balanced pvp.
14. Player housing - not a big fan of it myself but I know that there are many people who love such features so why not give it to them
15. Events - everybody loves those special moments like for example the opening of the gates of Ahn'Qiraj way back in vanilla WoW
16. Mount farming - having tons of different mounts to obtain in the world is the reason for many players to play such games
17. Transmog - same as the thing above but even more important
18. Things to do in the endgame - people should have something to do while they are not raiding or pvp-ing, just make sure it's something interesting that doesn't make players kill themselves like boring daily quests
19. Pet farming - same as transmog and mounts (you can add pet battles for all the pokémon lovers)
20. Different ways to build the same class - maybe specs like in WoW or smth like that
21. Many different weapons to choose from - One- and two-handed axes, maces, swords, some daggers, pikes, bows, crossbows, guns, shields, staves, wands etc.
Well I think that is everithing that I can think of for now.
Have a great day!
Hello there. It's weird how I disagree with half of the things Ico said above lol. And since you are collecting opinions I will say which things I disagree so you can see what things not to include in the game. Of course it's the dev's decision anyways.
I disagree with points: 1.- I am not a fan of this anyway and will probably get me out of the game real fast. 4.- I don't strongly disagree with that but I don't care about the quests anyway I only care about the rewards they give and are they worth the time. For example If a quest for killing 5 boars give me 900 exp in 10 minutes and a really "interesting" quest to go on an adventure for 1 hour gives me 1450 xp I'd totally choose the faster one. 7. - i don't think that's a wise decision considering the world pvping but it's again the dev's decision.
8.- I hate leveling and I know I am not the only 1 so challenging leveling? No no no no! Here you can add modes. Hard/easy leveling as the hard one gives you some extra rewards like mounts etc.
13. Skills over gear yeah. Balance pvp yeah! But let's say a player who just hit max lvl beats 1 with the bis gear? I am pretty sure the bis geared guy couldn't be that noobish to lose 1v1 vs such a guy so let's really balance it here.
17. Transmogrification. Yeah why not. But not for every item. It's pretty dumb when you see someone with a dumb looking sword to actually kill you because you underestimated him knowing that this sword is low gear while he actually wears a bis weapon. Some items of top tier shouldn't be able to be changed visually and items of lower tier shouldn't be able to be changed to look as top tier gear.
Now things i'd love to see are
1. Multi spex. Let's say warriors can tank but they can be dps also. Why making a player fully committed to only 1 of those while with a simple button click you can swap between your tank spec and your dps spec. This way things can be more flexible as when you need 1 dps in a raid group. One healer or a tank can swap into its off spec.
Other things i'd like to see is not impossible boss fights. Make raid and dungeon difficulties so everybody can enjoy end-game content and of course for the hardcore players there are the hardcore dungeons/raids which could be made to give either slightly better gear ( not much of improvement) or better drop chances for the hardcore mode.
Another thing is please make professions make sense a d follow logic. If there is 1 main prof make it possible so this 1 prof requires only mats that can be created by another side prof which is connected only to this main prof. Because it suck when you need mats from 2 different main profs to create something in 1 main prof. Too much gold spending in the auction house lol.
Please make fly paths and/or teleporters to certain places. And if your gonna make fly paths please make them fly in a straight line or almost a straight line cause I hate flying around like a dumbass while I am on that flying taxi. I mean straight line would save some precious time :)
As of the character animations I'd like to see different death animations and maybe different weapon swing animations this would be cool for spell casting as well.
Make emotes. God please make emotes😄 /laugh /rude /whatever and put animations to those. That's a must!
Okay I can't really think of anything else atm but If I remember anything I will put it here for sure!
Make both pve and pvp gear and please don't make the mistake of people in full bis pve gear to be able to beat someone in full bis pvp gear( in pvp numbers of course lol skill is always a thing ) and vice versa make it hard for people in pvp gear to slay top tier bosses :) that way people who farmed bgs and arenas would have to start from few steps below when going for a raid :) about the pvp gear make it obtainable through few possible options because some people don't like 20vs20 fight or get laggy in those. Other people prefer only 20vs20 fights and not 1v1 so if there are 2 different currencies like in WoW honor/arena points make it possible that pvp gear can be acquired from both equally. :)
About pve gear you could make some specific currency that we can exchange for gear. Let's say end-game raid X has some amazing rings. Okay but you have to roll with several other people to get those rings also those rings have like 3% drop chance. Here you can make every specific raid to have specific raid currency which could be obtained from either boss killed in the raid or some trash mob loot. Therefore if you're unlucky with the rolls and drop chance you can always get your gear by spending quite enough time in the certain instance.

Adding a thing to the things I'd like to see:
1. As we have armor value: 1000 armor = - 10% physical damage reduction ( both ranged and melee) there should be spell damage reduction stat given in the gear/ especially this magical resistance would be nice to be added to the items that actually make sense to be added to like rings, trinkets, necklaces. Because it looks normal for let's say pants, gloves or helmet to give you armor value but it doesn't make sense for these items to give you magical resistance if they are not some sort of magical armours. Although it makes sense to put MR into the items that seems magical - the off set. The magic resistance could work the same way as the armor 1MR = -1% magic damage reduction ( since there are less items that can give you MR the scale is lowered) but let's not make different resistances for every school of magic - that seems dumb lol
2. Boss mechanics. Making MR a thing therefore you can add mobs and bosses doing some spells with huge dmg which can be reduced with MR and some buffs that gives you more %MR.
Cool boss mechanics would be something that makes you move constantly in a boss fight. Not just staying there hitting 1,2,3 to do dmg. Or spam healing the tank.
Boss spawning adds! Yeah totally a must!
Some bosses don't spawn adds but rather have them as companions all the time. 2 tanks needed - 1 to tank the boss 1 to tank the mobs. And killing some of those adds can either enrage the boss ( bosses have friends too imagine some group of nerds killing your friend who you spent the last 7thousand years in that instance with :( donno for you but I'd enrage and wipe you nerds!!!) And vice versa slaying an add could lower the boss's strength as the adds might be healing him or infuse him with more power.
Make optional dungeon/raid bosses. BUT! Only when the raid instance is fully slain for first time. Like attunement lol. And your whole raid group cannot skip to the last boss or atleast skip few of the fights if some of the group it's not attuned. And attunement require slaying the whole instance for a first time. This will be good if you need just one item from a certain boss in the dungeon/raid.
3.As I am speaking of attunement - don't make long quest-chains of attunement quests. Or don't make any attunement at all. Some small quest chain would be cool tho. But 25 quests chain to enter a raid - hell naw.
4.Make raid lockdowns - 24h is enough. Entering a raid instance and slaying 1 boss inside would lock you for this raid for the next 24h. Therefore you cannot kill the same boss twice today. Anyway you can participate in another raid that is locked to the same instance progression. Lets say the instance has 7 bosses - the system counts that and if you have killed 2 of them you can join another raid that have killed only the same 2 bosses. A guy that hasn't been locked to the instance can join a group that have killed bosses inside and kill the other bosses that are left. This could easily be made by creating doors/portals that you cannot open or get through if you are locked out of them for today. You can still be in the raid group just not being able to participate in this specific boss fight.
5.Here is a dumb idea i just came with. Make people lose exp gain of killing monsters after 2 hours of leveling. Yeah i know it's dumb just stay with me. At the other hand make Coffee a real thing! Make some cafés inside or outside the cities where people can and maybe should go. Connect with other people while drinking coffee (for low price of course nobody is spending money in Starbucks cuz their coffee is just so damn good - no. ), and regen their "tiredness" for let's say 5-10 minutes. I saw an idea from another guy posted somewhere in the forums - Bar fights. I think there could be a combo of both our ideas here hehe.
Ok I think this is for now.

Hello again!
First I am thinking Dev should make an option to automatically hide most of the message in the forum topics and an option to "read more" because scrolling through my full messages is hard due to they being long. 😄
Secondly.
Dynamic leveling difficulty.
What I am talking about is that certain classes will have a much faster leveling than others. Here some system can be implemented to either increase your xp/hour if you are toooooo slow in killing monsters or maybe make mobs slightly easier. I am not talking about the opposite thing - making you lvl up slower because there will be a lot of guys who love speed running and lvl speed runs are something really nice to see! So if you are doing great so be it! But if you are kinda slow or suck at killing monsters there should be this dynamic leveling difficulty. Although this would be effective only in solo leveling because in group seems fair everything to be back to normal.

Greetings,
This is a weird idea (I know I'm probably gonna get flamed for this), but it's something I've always thought would be immersive and cool. Its a "alt" development system which simulates having a child and raising it.
Basically, at max level you would be able to marry a friend, guild mate, or even a NPC if you are a solo type player. Once married, after doing a quest chain together, you and your mate would have a child (or 2 depending on if your partner wants an alt to raise as well). Once completed, your child (aka alt) is born. You name him/her and basically bring him around with you kind of like a pet companion. He/she gains experience from everything you do (maybe up to level 10 or something small). This will indicate that he/she is full grown and is able to decide on a class/professions. Once class/professions are selected by your raging teenage child lol, you will be able to play that character as you would your main character, and maybe even gain an additional ability relating to his mother or fathers classes, just as a perk. You can continue to do this and theoretically create a "legacy" or "bloodline" for your characters. Maybe even an option for your child/alt to choose the opposite faction as the parent characters with another cool side quest chain that involves some conflict within the family.
With love,
Joda

haha yea the creativity with different races could be interesting

I like the Ide its like a Pet but in common with someone ingame so not just 1 person is attached to it but 2 people are
