Hello! Me again.
I was looking at the possibilities this class would have, it can be very cool but also a complete failure. First I was thinking of it working as an assassin, but I think a pirate is more like a fighter with "tricks" (attack with a pistol, or apply cc with nets), maybe focus on a lucky stat/skill to momentarily get buffs, dodge attacks, get criticals, heal etc.
But...
Is there any possibility to add sea battles or sea exploration? A pirate in the ocean that has sea skills and is decisive in sea raids/dungeons/PvP. If true, that would give an advantage to the pirate in sea over other classes, but isn't that the goal of each class? It would be like thinking that the healer has a lot of advantage in quests where you have to heal, or that the tank is broken because it takes a lot of damage. Each class is strong in its area, maybe the pirate has his strength in the sea, and on land would be a character dedicated to support sustained damage (pirate song (morale boost): increases the celerity of allies, increases strength, decreases slows ... something like that).
Would you like it people?

Hola!

Johou friend, actually seeing this post I have come up with some things about this class, and I also had the same doubt about whether or not it should be an assassin specialization ...
But looking at it carefully, it doesn't have to be this way, in movies we have seen many types of pirates, and not all of them are based on tempting luck, and I also think that this would be more of a kind of support for the raid or the group.
As our partner has said, pirates could have the ability to increase the haste of the entire raid for X seconds, or their main stat.
Attacks in area such as a bombardment, or a discharge of all its ammunition from the front.
It could have the ability to "Flip Coin" and if it comes up heads increase the pirate's main stat, and if it comes up tails, the secondary one.
It may not be a class focused on pure dps, but on getting your group to victory with its mechanics.
Maybe this class is focused on Stunning their adversaries in areas, and crowd control, slowing down, confusing ...
Maybe you like this idea ... Some passive "Thirst for glory" and that when the target is below 30% health increases its haste, or critical strike probability.
"Honor among thieves" that makes when there are more than one pirate together, the critical probability of each one of them increases ...
"Savvy" that makes them stronger against incapacitated enemies ...
Maybe I'll read it again and it's too strong, but I like it.

I really like the description you give of the pirate on land. Indeed I see that class very cool. If they dedicate to make it full on land, I would like it to be like that xD.
You give the craziest and strongest ideas brother hahahaha when you are in a development team it is very useful this kind of ideas to start from them :D

If it is as you say ... We could have the pirate as a great merchant, and not only with one faction, but with both.
Imagine being able to use your ship, and go to an expensive farming area to get to, but not for the pirates, they know how to get there. Once they get that material, they would go to a neutral island, or a hidden bay, where they can do business with other pirates regardless of their faction, this would put pirates as very necessary and precious characters for the rest of the players, from whom they will buy their profession products.
This, too, would get money moving between players, and it would be an easy way to organize the price of products.
