I wonder what the in-game names would be will they be able to contain numbers for example Sh0ck324 or even symbols - $h0ckm@ker? Or they will be simplified by only letters ?

any numbers, spaces or symbols will not be allowed in your character name. In-game when you hover with your mouse over a character you will see details like Name, Guild, Class, Race + you will see his War Tag.
In this way even if you have 10 characters people will recognize you.
Kind regards,
Armego.

Oh that would be cool to even see his wartag, by the way you could make all this information to be visible without hovering the mouse over the character. It will be easier and faster to recognise different guild/party members that you want to do something in a dungeon or raid or something like that. Even when pvp-ing with your guild it would be much faster to know who exactly your leader told you to attack because as we know pvp is really fast paced.

If im with an alter i might wanna feel like playing with my new character, not feeling that im with my mains alter. Same way i remember at the beginning of wow classic a guy in my server who did a silly coment in the world chat, became famous in the server and everyone made fun of him. He had to delete and restart his character with another name, i guess that he wouldnt like the idea of being recognizable even then.

The idea of the WarTag is, when someone adds you in his friends list, to be able to see with which character you are currently online, and not to have to add all your characters in his friends list.
And if you need complete privacy (after all we all need it sometimes) and want to make an alt, you can always make a new account, the game is completely free :)
You will of course have to option to "appear offline".
